Mataram, NTB (BPN) – Joint team consisting of 162  Wira Bhakti military command post (Korem), the Police, The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) and Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) evacuated victims of 7-magnitude earthquake in Jabbal Nur Mosque, Lading-Lading village, North Lombok Regency, on Monday, August 6. The joint team brought a number of heavy equipment to move the debris of the collapsed Mosque, to make it easier to evacuate a number of victims to the prepared place.

“This morning our personnel have rescued two victims and until 17.30 this time, only two bodies were evacuated to the field beside the mosque,” Col. Czi Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani of the Korem 162 / Wira Bhakti said.

According to him, the evacuation process will continue until evening, but if it is not possible, the evacuation will be continued the next day. “Hopefully this evacuation process can run safely and smoothly,” he hoped.

Meanwhile, the mosque caretaker (marbot) Amaq Muhammad Fajri, who managed to escape when the earthquake hit North Lombok and knocked down the mosque, explained that the number of worshipers on Isya prayers congregated at that time were around 60 people.

Until this news was revealed, TNI officers from Battalion 742 / Satya Wira Yudha (SWY) managed to evacuate two victims in a safe condition.

“The rest are still in the process of searching. While the process of evacuation and dismantling of the rubble of mosque buildings is still being carried out by the joint team using heavy equipment,” he said.
