MATARAM, NTB (BPN) – Bumigora University, in collaboration with Umiversitas Mahasaraswati (UNMAS) Denpasar, has successfully implemented a community empowerment initiative under the Kosabangsa program, targeting two women-led cooperatives in West Nusa Tenggara.
The program, funded by the Directorate of Research, Technology, and Community Service (DPPM), the Directorate General of Research and Development (Ditjenrisbang), and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendiktisaintek), aims to strengthen local women’s economic resilience through practical training and equipment support.

The first partner, KWT Langgar Asri, led by Chairwoman Sri, received comprehensive training in drip irrigation systems, smart greenhouse operations, and the production of biochar and compost.
These activities are designed to enhance agricultural productivity and promote sustainable farming practices among cooperative members.
The second partner, PEKKA, chaired by Yuli, participated in training sessions focused on the production of chili oil and fig leaf tea, the operation of coffee grinding machines, and the practical use of sealing equipment.
These skills are expected to diversify the cooperative’s product offerings and improve market competitiveness.
In addition to technical training, the program delivered Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for institutional governance and marketing strategies, ensuring that both cooperatives can sustain and scale their operations independently.
Kurniadin, the team leader from Bumigora University, was accompanied by two team members, Widani and Muhid.
During the handover ceremony, Kurniadin expressed his hope that the assistance provided would be utilized to its fullest potential.
“We hope that the support given to our partners will be maximized so that it creates a lasting impact on their members and the broader community,” he stated.
The initiative was also supported by three supervisors from UNMAS Denpasar: Diah Yuniti (team leader), Prof. Sumantra, and Ayu Suryandari.
They emphasized the importance of continuous monitoring, urging the project leader to track the progress and development of the partner cooperatives.
“We encourage the implementing team to remain actively involved in monitoring the partners’ growth to ensure the program’s objectives are fully achieved,” said Diah Yuniti.
The team extended its gratitude to DPPM, Ditjenrisbang, and Kemendiktisaintek for their support through the Kosabangsa program, particularly for the provision of equipment that has been instrumental in the training and empowerment activities.
The Kosabangsa program reflects a collaborative effort between higher education institutions and local communities to foster sustainable economic development, particularly among women’s groups in rural areas.
Through targeted training, institutional strengthening, and equipment support, the initiative seeks to create lasting positive change for the partner cooperatives and their surrounding communities.
