KUTA, Bali (BPN) – Citadines Kuta Beach Bali has held its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by visiting an orphanage in Bali. This time, the hotel visited Panti Asuhan Yayasan Penolong Pendidikan Anak Yatim (Yappenatim), in Gianyar Regency, on 29 November 2019, by helping to renovate the orphanage.
“After evaluating our previous CSR activities, we decided to once again help a foundation as this activity really helps the foundations and children. Furthermore, it is necessary for the hotel staff to see the living conditions of those who need our help,” explained Francisca, the General Manager of Citadines Kuta Beach Bali.
This is the second time Citadines Kuta Beach Bali has given back to people in need after being carried out in June 2019. The renovating activities at the orphanage include replenishing building materials, to cleaning areas such as the kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
“Other than the renovation, we also focused on giving knowledge and raising awareness regarding hygiene and cleanliness. Both are focal points in the hotel industry, and we noticed that lack of awareness has affected those living in the orphanage in terms of health,” Francisca continued.
Yappenatim was founded 31 years ago in 1985 by Ansori. His father Rudi Suharto ran the foundation before he took over. As its’ name shows, the foundation focuses on educating children for free, for children who cannot afford it or who no longer have parents.
“We would like to thank the staff at Citadines Kuta Beach Bali for their efforts. The renovation has really helped us reduce the foundation’s operational costs as well as reallocating funds to go toward educating the children. Due to the staffs’ efforts, the children of the foundation have a deeper understanding of their role in the cleanliness of their environment which can affect their health. It would be a shame if their determination to study is undermined by health problems which can be resolved easily with the right precautions,” Ansori explained.
Although the activity has ended, the vision and mission of Citadines Kuta Beach Bali and the Yappepam foundation continues. It is important to consistently spread positive messages and share knowledge with others around us especially in Bali. Hopefully, this inspires others to always bring in new hope for everyone.
