JAKARTA, (BPN) – Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) ensured that the new normal protocol will be a reference for tourism and creative economy practitioners in running their businesses.
Spokesperson of the COVID-19 Impact Management Task Force for the Ministry, Ari Juliano Gema, in a statement, Monday, explained that the Ministry will ensure the practitioners in tourism and creative economy sector are ready to welcome the new normal era by implementing the protocol which focuses on Cleanliness, Health, and Safety program.
The protocol is expected to improve the standards of cleanliness, health, and safety in the tourism sector, as well as increase digital innovation to advance creative economy sectors in Indonesia so that they can revive and compete in the global market.
“Specifically, in the tourism sector, the implementation of the new normal protocol aims to keep tourists visiting peacefully and comfortably because tourism facilities are now increasingly refined with verified Clean, Healthy, Safe standards,” Ari Juliano said as quoted from the ministry’s press release.
The protocol will later become a new standard and culture in the tourism and creative economy sector. Starting from the arrival at the airport, surveillance at the main entrance of the area, reception, supervision of tourist activities, and providing health facilities for tourists.
He explained that this health protocol will go through several stages, starting from conducting a simulation, then socializing, publication to the public, and finally conducting trials.
The implementation of theses stages must be monitored closely and with discipline as well as taking into account regional readiness.
“In the future, according to the President’s direction, every regional government must pay close attention to the conditions of R0 and Rt, or the spread of COVID-19 in their regions in preparing for the opening of tourism destinations, so that the implementation of health protocols will be a special attraction for tourists,” he said.
