DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – After four days without additional confirmed cases, Denpasar again recorded five new confirmed cases as of Tuesday, May 12, according to Spokesperson of Denpasar COVID-19 Task Force Dewa Gede Rai.

Dewa Gede Rai explained from the five new cases, two reside in Dangin Puri Kangin village, one from Ubung Kaja village, and two Dangin Puri Klod village, which one of them is a 3-year-old.

The child and the mother are infected from the father who previously was also confirmed from COVID-19 after arriving from Manado, North Sulawesi, on April 10.

While for the cases in Dangin Puri Kangin and Ubung Kaja are imported cases, who came from Sukabumi, West Java, a COVID-19 red zone in the country.

“I’m hoping the community to be careful in accepting any guests even their relatives. The health protocol must be applied in the current pandemic situation,” he said in Denpasar, Tuesday.

Dewa Gede Rai invited the community to postpone any traveling plan, and so does with people who just arrive in Denpasar must be under tight surveillance to curb the spread of the virus.

With five additional confirmed cases in Denpasar, the total number has reached 62, which 47 have recovered, two deaths, and 13 under treatment.

Dewa Gede Rai invited the community to keep following tye health protocol by using the face mask, wash hands, and keep the physical distancing.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of Bali COVID-19 Task Force Dewa Made Indra announced 14 new confirmed cases on the island as of Tuesday, May 12, bringing the total number to 328.

Dewa MAde Indra also announced five recoveries, bringing the total number to 215.
