Tourism Promotion Agency of NTT Proposes Protocol for the New Normal in Tourism

KUPANG, NTT (BPN) – Tourism Promotion Agency (BPPD) of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has finalized the draft for the protocol of tourism services under the new normal. The draft is based on inputs from tourism-related organizations in NTT,  to anticipate the tourism reopening.

“We have submitted the Draft of Tourism Services in NTT under the new normal to the Head of Tourism Agency, Wayan Darmawa. We hope that it will be approved soon,” Chairman of the BPPD NTT Rocky Pekujawang said in Kupang, Tuesday.

According to Rocky, the Tourism Service Protocol is important as a guideline for tourism actors. Besides, it also contains guarantees for tourists in terms of health, safety, and hygiene when visiting destinations in NTT.

The proposed draft, Rocky added, includes service protocols for tour guides, services in hotels and restaurants, in tourism objects as well as diving and tour boats.

While the Head of Tourism Agency of NTT Wayan Darmawa explained, that his side also still preparing the Gubernatorial Regulation (Pergub) for the province’s tourism health protocol. The draft from BPPD NTT will certainly be an important part of the Pergub, before the reopening which is planned on June 15, 2020.

“We hope that this regulation can be completed soon so that there is certainty in the implementation of tourism activities throughout NTT,” Wayan Darmawa said.
