DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – A selection of Indonesia’s top reggae musicians will perform at one stage at the Mertasari Beach, Sanur, Bali, in a concert titled Island Vibes Reggae Party, on Wednesday (July 31) that will start on 5 PM.

According to EQ Puradiredja, the producer, this special show, is aimed at promoting the Island Vibes album, which the tour is conducted in eight major cities, started from Tangerang on July 3, Jakarta, Bandung, Purwokerto, Yogyakarta, Malang, Banyuwangi, and Bali, and will end in Lombok on August 3.

The concert will last for 2.5 hours and will feature around 20 songs, party, and sing-along opportunities.

EQ Puradiredja stated that the Island Vibes album is a collaboration of some of Indonesia’s best reggae musicians, including Coconutreez (CTTZ), S2B Family, Richard D Gilis, and many others.

“There are 10 tracks on this album, all of which are standout songs that reggae fans will enjoy,” he said during a press conference on Tuesday (July 30).

EQ explained that Island Vibes aims to honor the existing reggae traditions in Indonesia while introducing a new trend, and hoping the Indonesian reggae could reach the world stage.

EQ explained that renowned Jamaican reggae producer Andre “Dre Day” Ennis was also involved in the album.

“I asked him to be involved in mixing and producing, and to guide us to achieve the quality of albums he has worked on for Koffee, Sean Paul, Kabaka Pyramid, and others. I explained that I wanted to create an East-West Indies collaboration. I want Jamaica to come here and for us to reach Jamaica,” EQ said.

In addition to the main Island Vibes lineup, the concert will also feature local reggae bands in each city where the concert is held.

With ticket prices only be at IDR50,000, the event in Bali is targeting 5,000 visitors, and visitors could find merchandise boot of all the performing bands.
