Recently listed among Bali’s 20 best restaurants by major Australian media outlet Traveller, Syrco BASÈ continues to shine, with several team members earning international recognition for their exceptional talent and skills.
Aris Sanjaya, Bar Manager, has taken out the top spot at the prestigious Diageo WORLD CLASS Indonesia 2024. He will proudly represent Syrco BASÈ and his country at the Diageo WORLD CLASS Global Final in Shanghai, China, this September, competing against the leading bartenders from 60 countries.
Now in its 15th year, the world’s largest bartending competition recognizes industry professionals for the creativity of their drinks, exceptional preparation techniques, hospitality, professionalism, and commitment to continuous learning.
Also in the realm of fine drinking, Wisnu Arcana, Bartender, following his win at the Giffard West Cup Indonesia 2024, emerged victorious from the Asia Pacific Grand Final of one of the world’s foremost bartending competitions.
Wisnu will now showcase his innovative mixology skills and love of Indonesian ingredients at the Global Finals in Angers, France, in September.
Founded in 1997, the Giffard West Cup provides a platform for bartenders to gain international recognition and advance their careers in the global mixology scene.
Meanwhile, Arya Dharmayasa, Assistant Bar Manager, along with A.A. Putra and Zieshen Giovanni, Bartenders, are currently competing as a team in The Campari Red Hands Asia 2024.
Having successfully passed Round 1, they eagerly anticipate Round 2 and are poised to demonstrate their cutting-edge approach in the upcoming stages. Competition entrants are encouraged to expand their horizons with creations that are intricate, sensorial and representative of their venue’s philosophy.
Furthermore, in Syrco BASÈ’s kitchen team, Stefan de Graaf, Head of Culinary Services, is a contender in the regional finals of the San Pellegrino Young Chef Academy Competition, held between September 2024 and January 2025.
This will put him in the running for the grand final in November 2025 in Alma, Italy. Identifying the best young chefs around the world, the revered competition showcases their talent and accelerates their professional development, empowering them to access the top tier of the cheffing community and make a positive impact in the world of gastronomy.
