KUTA, Bali (BPN) – YELLO Hotel Kuta Beachwalk (YKTB) held YELLO OFF DA WALL (YODW), a celebration of street art, by inviting local artists to draw graffiti for the hotel, on Saturday, August 27. The hotel is a firm supporter of the art form and an important aspect of its DNA.
The event was held in collaboration with Diton King and Beachwalk Shopping Center as one of the hotel’s ways to unite communities of artists in Indonesia, especially in Bali.
The YODW Street Art competition was open and free to the public and themed “YELLO Nation: Beautiful Kuta Beach – The Fun Under The Sun”, which represented YELLO Hotels as a pool of young-spirited street talents with locally inspired and urban-themed showcases (freedom of expression, young at heart, urban life).
According to Muhammad Mufrani Mardiansyah, GM shared service of HARRIS Hotel Tuban & YELLO Hotel Kuta Beachwalk, the event was held since street art represents the creativity of the young generation.
“As a culture, street art is full of creativity, which also represents the event in Yello’s brand. We will display the artworks at some strategic position in the hotel. It’s not vandalism but art that should be preserved and appreciated,” he said.
