UBUD, Bali (BPN) – For the first time, Ubud hosted a bartender competition titled Ubud Art of Cocktail Competition 2019 on Friday, December 13th. The event organized by Sthala a Tribute Portfolio Hotel Ubud Bali in collaboration with The Bartimes Magazine was held also to celebrate the first anniversary of the Ubud Food and Beverage Community (UFBC).
For years, Ubud has been known as one of the best destinations in Bali. For that, Ubud must have a quality bartender. Besides, this event was also initiated to provide wider opportunities for young bartenders to be more creative in the art of mixing drinks.
“The Ubud Food and Beverage Community strongly supports this kind of event, to increase the experience and knowledge of bartender in Ubud,” said Cok Bagus, Chairman of UFBC.
At the competition, the judges were quite surprised by the talents in Ubud because so far bartender from Ubud rarely participate in a competition.
“The participants are very competitive and surprising, it turns out that there are many talented bartenders in Ubud that we rarely see competing. We hope they will show more what they’ve got, and give a new color to the world of F&B in Bali,” said Agung Bawartha, one of the judges from Himpunan Bartender Indonesia (HBI).
Ubud Art of Cocktail Competition 2019 raised several talented bartenders as winners. I Putu Gede Ratdana (Mosaic Ubud) emerged as the champion, Runner-up position was achieved by Ni Komang Seriani Aditya Dewi (Tejaprana Bisma), followed by I Putu Merta (Alaya Ubud) in the third position.
“This activity is expected to be continuous so that the bartender in Ubud has a place to create and develop their talents considering Ubud is one of the main destinations in Bali,” said Adi Putra, Representative of Sthala Ubud Bali.
