SEMINYAK, Bali (BPN) – One of the world’s favorite vodka brands, Smirnoff, held an event entitled Smirnoff Mix It Up, that combined the taste of the local culture Indonesia through music and cocktail.

This event was also enlivened by Indonesian talented DJs such as Jevin Julian, Putri Una, Osvaldorio, Kartika Ayu and Weird Genius, each of which has created their own music inspired by the typical sound and atmosphere of the city that they represented.

As described by DJ Kartika Ayu, who introduced her track that inspired by the local wisdom of Bali.

“One of the tracks is Bali Mix where I combine EDM (electronic dance music) with the rythm of Bali’s gamelan (traditional music instrument) and I also add voices on Kecak dance to strengthen the Balinese accent,” she said.

Kartika Ayu’s performance at Smirnoff Mix It Up in Bali, was accompanied by Balinese mixologist Arey Baker at Envie Seminyak, on Friday, November 30.

“My Bali Mix cocktail is fresh and tropical. Both from the taste and display. This Smirnoff Skyball is a mix of Smirnoff with coconut syrup, pineapple juice, lemon and decorated with an edible tropical flowers called Dianthus,” Arey Baker, winner of Diageo World Class Indonesia 2014, said.

Smirnoff Mix It Up is held in five regions namely Jakarta, Bali, Medan, Surabaya and Yogjakarta, since October 17, 2018, presenting interesting local ingredients to remind consumers on how to celebrate their unique culture, until June 2019.
