CANGGU, Bali (BPN) – I Nyoman Winaya who is familiarly called Chef Winaya is a Chef from Singaraja, Bali, who was born in 1968, started his career after graduating from high school by working in a fishing ground in the Benoa area.
Then, he was offered to take part in a training program, held by one of the training institutions located in Nusa Dua, where he took Food and Beverage Products (Kitchen). Here, his career started.
During the training, Chef Winaya had the opportunity to do an internship at a 4-star hotel located in Legian for 3 months before worked as a canteen staff for 1.5 months. He had the opportunity to move to the pastry kitchen at the hotel until he decided to quit in 2005.
Chef Winaya also adds to his experience in the Kitchen by working on cruise ships by taking part in Pastry & Bakery and Main Kitchen while exploring several countries in Europe until the end of 2013, he decided to quit and try to work in Bali again.
The first hotel where he worked a hotel in Seminyak for 6 months as Chef de Partie (CDP) and a hotel in Kuta for 1.5 years in the same position.
Then he moved back to a hotel in Denpasar as a Sous Chef for 1.5 years, with the experiences he had, he continued his career at The Haven Suites Bali Berawa in the same position starting from 2016 to date.
Chef Winaya is a creative person and likes something that sounds art and has aspirations to have a small bakery factory that can distribute to villas or hotels.
In his daily life, Chef Winaya always keeps in his mind that he is still learning and achieving his goals until the end of his life. Because knowledge is endless, the more we learn, we realize that there are many things that we don’t know.
