CANGGU, Bali (BPN) – PADI Restaurant & Bar Canggu hosted a Latte Art Competition, followed by 32 participants who showcased their talents in front of professional judges on Saturday (November 30, 2024).
Putu Harumi, Chairperson of the committee, stated that the Latte Art Competition is meant to encourage and motivate the young talents for latte art in Bali to create and show their competence in Latte Art.
“Many young talented latte artists have no opportunity to show their ability and capability. The latte art competition provides them the opportunity to showcase their talents and best skills. Participants vary from vocational schools, tourism high schools, restaurant and bar industry workers, barista houses, and public,” said Ha,rumi who is also the Secretary to the Indonesia Food & Beverage Executive Committee (IFBEC).
Meanwhile, the representative of PADI Restaurant & Bar management, Nyoman Astama expressed his gratitude to all sponsors for making this event a success.
On a separate note, the owner of PADI Restaurant & Bar Canggu, Made Yeskhiel, expected the competition can be held regularly to continue improving the skills of barista talents in Bali.
The latte art competition was won by Isa Rofifa Adam, followed by I Gede Yuda Mahendra in second, and I Made AlyaDwi Prayana as third winner.
Each was awarded with cash money of IDR 2,50, IDR,000 and IDR 1,000,000 respectively. Each winner also received a trophy and certificate.
One of the latte art judges, Nof yoman Suweca, SE, CRMH, Chairman of Bali Barista Association, believes that the participants possessed amazing talents and they showed new techniques in making latte art patterns.
“Their skills become their special competence which guarantees ,an initial asset for their future jobs or even for starting their own business,” ended Nyoman Suweca.
