BADUNG, Bali (BPN) – One of Bali’s talented artists and photographers Kadek Puja Astawa holds a photography exhibition, at Pullman Hotel and Resort, Kuta, which is claimed as the result of his work from 2014 until 2018.
Themed “Nature of Culture”, Puja Astawa explained to prefer the humanist and realist genre photos with cultural objects because it is livelier and easier to perceive the nuance.
“Culture and nature will keep changing, especially the nature. So I think this is an important thing that needs to be made,” Puja Astawa said at the opening of the exhibition on Thursday, May 3.
Puja who works on photography since 2004 is also eager to invite the community to give more concern to the environment and to take care the traditions of Bali in particular.
“Through this exhibition, I want to deliver the message about the importance of taking care of nature and culture, don’t use the advancing era as an excuse to forget the tradition and culture or not to keep the environment,” he explained.
The fifth exhibition during his career as a photographer was opened on Thursday, May 3, featuring 39 photographic works and will be held for six months until October 2, 2018.
“My type of photos is more to target foreign tourists, so hotels, villas or the like is the right place for me to hold exhibition,” he added.
Puja Astawa explained, his works are made as natural as possible and printed on canvas with various sizes. “Not so many editing on the process, because I do not want the picture like has been made up,” he said.
