DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – Manchester United legend Gary Neville recently visited Annika Linden Center (ALC) in Denpasar, Bali. On his visit, Gary saw various activities, as well as how ALC made a combination of business and social to make social changes in the community.
At ALC, Gary also directly saw activities at several foundations under the ALC and Inspirasia Foundation, including DNetwork, Puspadi Bali, Peduli Kemanusian Foundation (YPK Bali) and Rama Sesana Foundation.
“I heard of this foundation from my friend Mark Weingard, the founder of Annika Linden Center. And he invited me to come here,” Gary Neville said on Monday.
During his visit at ALC, Gary interacted with disabilities and observed the making of prosthetic limbs by the disabled.
Besides, Gary also spoke with DNetwork that provided English lessons for disabled job seekers in preparation for job interviews. “This is very interesting. There’s a place here for disabilities who are in job search,” he said.
Gary also provided coaching clinics to the disabled football team formed by Puspadi Bali. And at the end of his visit, Gary shared his suggestion and motivation to ALC’s staffs and clients in a sharing session.
Gary Neville explained that he and his wife and children visiting Bali every year and this is their fourth time. “This is our fourth time to Bali. We like it here and Bali is a safe place and the people are very friendly,” he said.
Regarding the Indonesian football, Gary said that Indonesia has the opportunity to bring its football because the key is enthusiasm for football.
“I watched a football match in Bali two years ago and I saw a massive enthusiasm from the supporter. The high enthusiasm for football is the foundation, the rest you just need to build facilities,” he said.
