JAKARTA (BPN) – Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy encourages the players of the event industry in Indonesia to create online events for improving the tourism human resource competency in creating and marketing online event amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Deputy of Tourism Products and Events for the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Rizki Handayani Mustafa on her statement in Jakarta, Tuesday, explained, the online events play as stimulus programs for the event players in Indonesia to empower the Indonesian event workers during the emergency period of COVID-19.
“The event will consist of two stages namely webinars and real projects to online events, which the target comes from 50 representatives of event industry companies and 50 representatives of the organization in regional event communities,” Rizki Handayani said, as quoted from the ministry’s press release.
She explained, in the implementation of the webinars, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is collaborating with the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI).
While the real projects to the online events will later be selected from 100 webinar participants, the best 6 online event projects will be supported to be implemented.
The assessment criteria will be based on creativity and the level of event workforce absorption. The target of each online project is projected to be able to absorb 20 event workers.
“We are ready to facilitate the event organizers. We want to collaborate with the industry players to seek strategy of recovering the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic,” she said.
