SEMINYAK, Bali (BPN) – Canggu Fun Run returns this year after a successful event since first held in 2016. This year, the annual event will be themed Hippie and to be held on Sunday, August 19, 2018. The 5K fun run event which is also in accordance to Indonesia Independence Day, is expected to be followed by 350 runners, both male and female categories.
Moh. Hassan Bisri as the event organizer said that related to the theme, runners are expected will dress-up with their preference styles with hippie touch. Bisri also explained that this event is dedicated to lift tourism in Canggu.
“The main purpose of this event is for promoting Canggu area where all the runners are expected to rove around this village through the rice fields, beaches, mural art wall, cafes & restaurants, temples, and local residents in a fun way,” he said in press conference at The HAVEN Seminyak on Thursday.
Besides, Canggu Fun Run is also dedicated to social activity which the fund raises from the event will be donated to orphanage in Klungkung Regency.
“We also prepare the auction at the end of the event, where all the goods and vouchers will be auctioned at the lower price. All of the fund will be donated to Yayasan Semara Putra, an orphanage in Klungkung. Another activity prepared is the Zumba dance and a bunch of prizes for runner winners, best Zumba dancer, best Instagram post winner and best costume winner,” Bisri said.
Canggu Fun Run 2018 is held by FRii Bali Echo Beach in collaboration with THE HAVEN Bali Seminyak, THE HAVEN SUITES Bali Berawa and Fontana Hotel Bali, a PHM Collection, under PHM Hospitality and opens its registration from June 25 to July 3. The race itself will begin at 6:30 a.m.
