DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – Bali announced five more addition on recovered patients as of Wednesday, April 22, bringing the total number to 47.
Unfortunately, the Deputy Chairman of Bali COVID-19 task force Dewa Made Indra also announced one fatality on the island, bringing the total number to four.
“One died today, a 53-year-old Balinese who also Indonesian Migrant Worker (PMI),” Dewa Indra said on a statement in Denpasar, Wednesday.
Dewa Indra explained that the dead patient previously worked in Portugal. The patient was tested positive of COVID-19 after arriving in Bali. Then based on a swab test also confirmed for COVID-19, and then treated at Sanglah Hospital.
“Based on the information given by Sanglah Hospital, the patient not just confirmed from COVID-19 but also had hypertension,” he said.
The patient, Dewa Indra continued, passed away on Wednesday morning, and after coordination with the hospital, the Health Department, and with the family, the decision was the body be cremated.
Dewa Indra also announced two new confirmed cases in Bali as of Wednesday, bringing the total number to 152.
“Both of them are Indonesians. One got infected with the imported case and the other from the local transmission. Besides, the total number of patients under treatment also reaching 101. They are being treated at 11 referral hospitals and quarantines sites in Bali,” Dewa Indra explained.
While the Indonesia Government announced as of Wednesday, 71 patients have recovered, bringing the total number to 913.
Achmad Yurionto, government spokesperson for COVID-19 also explained, there are 19 fatalities today, bringing the total death toll to 635.
“Besides, there are 283 new confirmed cases across the country, bringing the total number to 7,418,” Yuri said in an official statement in Jakarta, Wednesday.
