MANGUPURA, BALI (BPN) – I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali to adjust airport operations for November 12-18, ahead of the G20 Summit which will be held on November 15-16, 2022.
General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali, Handy Heryudhitiawan said that this is in accordance with the regulation set by the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, and based on the Circular of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation no. 11 of 2022 on Aviation Operational Arrangements during the Indonesia Presidency G20 Summit at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali.
“These adjustments ensure the security, safety, and smoothness of the Head of State/VVIP flights, military flights, domestic and international scheduled commercial flights, Charter Flights, and Private Flights at home and abroad. So that during the G20 Summit, especially during the arrival and departure of State Guests, air traffic at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali can run smoothly,” said Handy.
The Operational Adjustments at Bali Airport on 12-14 November 2022 are:
- Airport Operational are set for 24 Hours.
- Limited Operation for regular flights at certain times as follows:
- November 14, 2022: 00.00 to 2 AM; 1 PM to 9 PM.
- November 17, 2022: 12 PM to 7 PM
3. Priority for flight services during the period of Limited Operation is given for the following flights:
- G20 VVIP Flight (Main and Support Planes)
- Military Aviation (G20 supporter)
- G20 Delegation Charter Flights
- G20 Delegation private flights; and
- Regular domestic and international flights with a particular/limited number of movements
“The Limited Operations period is enforced to anticipate the arrival of State Guests and G20 delegations at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali. We urge all airport service users to avoid these times when traveling by air unless there are important and urgent needs,” Handy explained.
Handy continued that during the adjustment period, Bali Airport continues to serve scheduled flights domestically and internationally.
“However, we need to remind you that regular flights, especially those during the Limited Operations, are very likely to make changes to flight schedules to match the arrival of State Guests participating in the G20,” he continued.
In addition, Bali Airport also synergizes with the Bali Police to conduct a traffic engineering scheme to and from the Airport on November 14 and 17 2022, and diversions will be carried out at a number of main accesses to and from the airport area.
