New flight from Canberra, Australia to Bali arrived at Bali Airport on Friday (14 June 2024).

MANGUPURA, Bali (BPN) – I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali International Airport has added another international flight route with the launch of Batik Air’s Canberra – Denpasar route on Friday (14 June), which will operate three times a week.

Bali Airport currently serves nine direct flight routes to Australia namely to Canberra, Sydney, Perth, Cairns, Gold Coast, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Darwin. These routes are served by eight airlines.

Handy Heryudhitiawan, General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, welcomed the opening of the new route noting that Australia is currently the country with the highest number of foreign arrivals at the airport.

“Based on data from the Immigration Office  Ngurah Rai, up to May, there were 454,272 Australians visiting Bali. We believe that this new route will further enhance Bali’s connectivity with Australia,” he said.

Up to May 2024, Bali Airport has served 9,183,764 passengers and 56,627 aircraft movements.

Currently, Bali Airport serves 35 international routes with 38 airlines and 21 domestic routes with 11 airlines.

“The opening of Bali – Canberra connectivity  is expected to bring a positive impact on Bali’s tourism. In the future, we hope there will be more new international routes in 2024,” said Handy.
