Saudia Airlines Launches Inaugural Flights to Bali

MANGUPURA, Bali (BPN) – Saudia Airlines has started its regular operations at Bali Airport with a route to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia via Singapore on Monday (March 31, 2025).

On its inaugural flight, Saudia Airlines, operating a Boeing 787-900 Dreamliner with flight number SV856, arrived at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport at 7:42 PM local time, carrying 118 passengers.

The plane then departed for Singapore at 10:06 PM with flight number SV857, carrying 113 passengers.

This flight is scheduled to operate three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Bali Governor Wayan Koster, who was present at the inaugural ceremony of Saudia Airlines’ flight, welcomed the new route from Bali to Jeddah positively.

“This route will certainly increase the number of tourists visiting Bali, especially from Saudi Arabia,” he said.

According to data from the Ngurah Rai Class I Immigration Office, the number of Saudi Arabian tourists visiting Bali in 2024 reached 14,000. By March 2025, the number of Saudi visitors had reached 3,000.

“Looking at the data on tourist visits to Bali, we can conclude that the number of Saudi visitors is steadily increasing. With the launch of this flight, we certainly hope that the number of tourist arrivals will continue to rise,” Koster added.

Wahyudi, CEO of Region II PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, stated that passengers from Saudia Airlines’ flights will not only stop in Bali but can also explore nearby tourist destinations such as Lombok, Labuan Bajo, and others.

“Therefore, we hope that with the addition of this flight, international connectivity in Bali will improve and tourism in Indonesia will continue to grow,” he added.

Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, is confident that Saudia Airlines’ operations will further solidify Bali’s position as a world-class destination.

“The operation of this route to Saudi Arabia via Singapore opens up opportunities for Bali to promote its attractions to a wider market. With strong collaboration among stakeholders, we believe Bali will become even more globally recognized,” he said.

With Saudia Airlines now operating, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport serves 40 international routes to 20 countries, operated by 43 airlines.

By February 2025, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport had served 3.6 million passengers in total.
