DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – Denpasar Police arrested two foreign nationals from Australia and Britain for alleged possession of methamphetamine and ecstasy. Both were arrested in Kuta, police said on Thursday.

Denpasar Police Chief Jansen Avitus Panjaitan said the first suspect, Collum Park, 32, from Britain was arrested on Tuesday at 10.45 PM in Kuta with 14 meth packages weighing 11.84 grams and 15 ecstasy pills.

After an investigation to Collum Park, police officers then arrested Aaron Coyle, 44, from Australia on Wednesday night at a villa in Kuta, with 1.23 grams of methamphetamine.

“We suspect that the British man is the distributor and the Australian is the courier. Aaron Coyle received IDR 200 thousand for the delivery,” Denpasar Police Chief said.

Both suspects are currently on tourist visas, and the case will be handled to the Bali Police HQ for further investigation.

They are being charged under Indonesia’s article of narcotics law with a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 20 years in prison and a fine of at least IDR 800 million and a maximum of IDR 8 billion.
