Kuta – Indonesia Hockey Foundation (YHI) again to hold Bali Hockey Festival (BHF) at Lapangan Banteng, Seminyak, Bali on September 30-October 1, 2017. On its the fourth year,  the annual event will be followed by 24 teams from five countries. 

The event that carries the concept of ‘Hockey Holiday in Bali’ is attracting the attention of teams from countries out of Indonesia. For abroad participants, the committee has received confirmation from teams from Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Brunei Darussalam.

In BHF 2017 there are 18 male’s teams and 6 female’s teams that will compete. The committee uses a half-competition system and allows every team to compete in three divisions, Cup Division, Plate Division, and Bowl Division.

Similar hockey competitions are held also in neighboring countries such as Singapore Cricket Club, Hong Kong Faster, Vietnam Festival and Malaysia. Each country combines hockey sporting activities with the concept of tourism. 

The implementation of BHF 2017 has the support of the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports, Commission X House of Representatives, and the Indonesian Hockey Federation.

Iwan hopes that BHF can be a routine agenda to develop hockey sports in Indonesia and help the government in tourism sector.
