KUTA, Bali (BPN) – Tempong, a renowned chili sauce or paste from Banyuwangi, East Java, is one of the most well-known in Indonesia.
The term Tempong means to be slapped. This is to describe the spiciness and deliciousness of this chili sauce.
One of the best places to enjoy the sensation of this chili sauce is at Warung Nasi Tempong Lalah which just opened on Monday (February 26).
Located on Jl. Raya Kuta, Kuta, this restaurant offers several advantages compared to other similar restaurants.
Stella Susilo, one of the owners of Tempong Lalah, said that the restaurant has several advantages compared to other similar restaurants.
“Here, the chili sauce is always fresh local ingredients. That’s one of our advantages,” she said during the grand opening.
In addition, this restaurant also pays attention to several details that are important for visitor comfort, such as interior design and cleanliness.
“We have hygienic and clean kitchen and restroom. We hope customers will continue to return here because of the restaurant’s clean and hygienic atmosphere, which influences their sense of comfort,” Stella remarked.
Billy Syahputra, a famous celebrity in Indonesia also the owner of this restaurant, added that Bali is chosen as the location to open his first restaurant, because Bali is a world-class tourist destination.
“This is a good market for culinary businesses and we are optimistic that we can survive. In the future, we will also open in other major cities in Indonesia,” he explained.
According to Arif Maulana Nurbani, also the owner of Warung Tempong Lalah, the location close to the airport is also an advantage.
He explained Warung Tempong Lalah has a capacity of 150 seats, with spacious parking lot.
