UBUD, Bali (BPN) – Sri Ratih Cottages open their door once again with a new experience. Working together with Sunsri House of Jewelry in Sri Ratih Café & Jewelry, a jewelry-making class was held to introduce a state-of-art experience for the guests who are staying at the hotel, on Thursday, February 11.
Opened by Arumi, the General Manager of Sri Ratih Cottages, the collaboration of Sri Ratih Cottages and Sunsri House of Jewelry at Sri Ratih Café & Jewelry is aimed to introduce the ancient tradition of Celuk’s silver artisan to make people understand the creative process of silver jewelry which can be learned directly from the maestro.
Guests were guided to discover the step by step of how local silver artisan of Celuk, one of the main Balinese craft towns, combining ancestral expertise and technology in creating a bejeweled masterpiece, starting from the design process, crafting, assembling, and up to finish.
For about one hour the guests were learning how to create a hammered design ring, a simple yet sophisticated design suitable for beginners.
Along the crafting process, she also explained that there are a variety of classes offered by Sunsri House of Jewelry including a one-week intensive program for guests who want to learn about jewelry making in-depth.
There are some other missions of this collaboration which are to preserve the tradition of jewelry making that has been running in the family for decades. Also, the collaboration is aimed to be one of the efforts that can be developed to sustain the silver artisan in Celuk in this difficult time when many people are losing their jobs.
After gaining their certification of Clean, Healthy, Safety, Environment (CHSE) from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sri Ratih Cottages has been actively implementing the standardized health protocol to guarantee that guests who will visit or stay at Sri Ratih Cottages need not be worried as the hotel services and products are already met the hygiene, health, safety, and environmental sustainability protocols.
Sri Ratih Café & Jewelry also launching their new normal menu that has been carefully crafted to please the craving for authentic Balinese food.
