SEMINYAK, Bali (BPN) – The Seminyak Village mall held a Live Painting Competition which was followed by 35 painters from the Cat Air Indonesia and Urban Sketchers communities in Bali. The event is a series of the Getting Closer painting exhibition from February 28 to March 28, 2021.
“Live painting by 15 painters from Urban Sketchers is held at the lobby of the Seminyak Village and for the live painting competition with a model is followed by 20 painters,” said Danar Reksa, Head of Marketing Seminyak Village on Monday.
Danar explained, that these two events, painting exhibition and live painting competition, aim to restore arts and as a support to artists di Bali during this difficult time.
“We are working with Zen1 Gallery and Heartlab to restore arts in Bali and help artists especially during the pandemic where we must continue to work so that Balinese arts can survive,” he explained.
The Live Painting Competition winners, Danar continued, received cash, certificates, and goodie bags, while paintings from Urban Sketchers would be displayed in the Seminyak Village area with the painter’s name.
According to Danar, the Getting Closer painting exhibition received positive feedbacks from both local people and domestic and foreign tourists.
“This event brings a very positive impact on Seminyak Village’s traffic. Every day, more and more people come, especially on weekends, visiting the painting exhibition,” he said.
In the future, Danar explained that Seminyak Village will still hold events with art as the theme but in a different concept.
“Of course, in the following months, we will still hold art events but with different concepts. There is a more global concept about art, thus the next concept will be even more complex,” he explained.
