Indigo Airlines Inaugural Flight Lands at Bali Airport from Bengaluru, India.

MANGUPURA, Bali (BPN) – I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport welcomes additional connectivity with India, with Indigo Airlines operating the Bengaluru – Denpasar – Bengaluru route for the first time on Friday (March 29). This flight route will operate once a day.

“We appreciate all parties involved for the realization of Indigo Airlines’ first flight to Bali,” said Handy Heryudhitiawan, General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.

Indigo Airlines departed from Bengaluru, India, with the Airbus A320 aircraft type, flight number 6E1605, and landed at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport at 09.30 local time and was greeted by a water salute ceremony.

“India is an emerging market in Bali, so we hope that the additional route will make it easier for Indian people who want to visit Bali. We believe that the operation of IndiGo Airlines at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport can make a positive contribution to the tourism sector in Indonesia and India,” Handy said.

Up to February 2024, Indian nationals are recorded as the third largest number of foreigners coming to Bali with a total arrival of 67,979 people.

Australians still hold the number one foreign visitor to Bali with 217,262 people, followed by Chinese amounting to 94,542 people.

Previously, direct routes to India were only served by the Vistara airline to New Delhi. With the operation of IndiGo Airlines, currently Bali Airport serves 33 routes with 36 airlines.
