JEMBRANA, Bali (BPN) – Jembrana Police arrested seven perpetrators of the alleged sale of fake health certificate to people who will cross to Java from Gilimanuk Port, Jembrana, Bali, on Thursday, May 14.
According to Jembrana Police Chief I Ketut Gede Adi Wibawa, previously, the circulation of this fake health certificate was viral at social media, offered to people who will cross at Gilimanuk Port.
After an investigation, the Jembrana Police was then able to arrest seven perpetrators initialed Wid, RF, BSP, SWP, and PEA residents from Gilimanuk, IA from Jember, East Java, and FMN from South Kuta.
The fake certificate was sold from IDR 25 thousand for travel passengers to IDR 100 thousand for motorbike rider.
Chief Adi Wibawa explained that the fake certificate was made based on an original one found at a minimarket in Gilimanuk.
“The perpetrators took advantage of circular letter No. 04 the Year 2020 on the traveling restriction criteria to prevent COVID-19, by creating fake health certificate and sell it to people who will cross at Gilimanuk Port,” he said at a press conference on Friday.
The seven perpetrators are charged against the country’s criminal code with imprisonment for six years.
