DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – The Indonesia Hotel Front Liners Association (HFLA) Chapter Bali held the Receptionist of the Year (ROTY) 2024 competition, which was participated in by 57 hotel staff from across Bali and 15 university students, on December 6-7, 2024, at the International Institute of Tourism and Business (IPBI).
The competition included several stages, consisting of a written test, presentation test, and role play. All the scores from these tests were combined to determine one winner, a first runner-up, and a second runner-up.
The judges for this competition were tourism figures from PHRI Bali, Bali Hotel Association, IHGMA Bali, AHLI Bali, and hotel general managers in Bali.
The criteria for the receptionist at each level were assessed based on foreign language proficiency and accuracy, knowledge of front office operations, and skills in handling complaints in various situations.
I GNP Yudy Suardana, Chairman of HFLA Bali, stated that this annual event aims to advance the younger generation of Indonesia, particularly Bali’s human resource, in the tourism sector from foundational levels such as university studies to professional front liners working in the hospitality industry, thus enhancing their international competitiveness.
Ni Kadek Wina Aprilina (Conrad Bali) was crowned the Winner of Receptionist of the Year 2024 and also named Best Performer during the role play. Meanwhile, the ROTY Academy 2024 title was awarded to Dewa Ayu Putu Dilacitra Andini (Mediterranean Ubud).
