Hatten Wines Introduces Sweet Syrah and the New Grenache

SANUR, Bali (BPN) – Hatten Wines announces the launch of its ‘NEW’ Family, the Hatten Wines Sweet Syrah for which distribution starts to circulate the first week of December 2021, and TWO Islands’ new Grenache.

The Hatten Wines Sweet Syrah is a sweet red wine made from their own local Balinese vineyards. It is 70 percent Syrah, with a little bit of Malvasia Nera giving freshness and Muscat Bleu giving floral, fruity aromatics.

Hatten Wines treat this wine very gently in order to extract the softer tannins and maintain a medium-body that balances with the sweetness.  The wine is aged for 5 months using American oak, which is sweeter, has softer tannins, and has more coconut and vanilla on the aroma.

The first Sweet Syrah on Indonesia’s local market is a soft, sweet, and luscious wine, so wine lovers can enjoy pairing it with grilled meats and spicy dishes. This is a wine that matches the tropical climate really well, and it will have drinkers gladly reaching for a second glass.

“It is medium-bodied, with well-balanced sweetness and a touch of toasty, sweet oak on the mid-palate and finishes. Redberry fruit characters dominate the flavor spectrum, and the finish is long and peppery due to the unique growing conditions in Bali.  I’m certain the new Hatten Wines Sweet Syrah will take Bali by storm,” said the winemaker of Hatten Winery, James Kalleske.

As for the Two Islands’ new Grenache wine, bringing the range to ten varieties.

Grenache is one of the oldest grape varieties in South Australia, with a history dating back to the 1830s. Historically it has been used to make sweet, fortified wines with light color and tannin, and high alcohol.

But more recently Grenache has entered a renaissance in Australia, with its popularity as a lighter-bodied red wine booming. People love its easy-drinking nature, medium-light body, and its floral and berry fruit flavors.

The newest Grenache wine is the first Grenache on Indonesia’s local market. The wine is light-bodied and fresh.
