DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – Viu Indonesia announces they have launched Viu Pitching Forum 2019, which this year also targeting Bali talented filmmaker. Viu Pitching Forum is an annual program to facilitate and develop the stories and ideas of the Indonesian filmmakers to be made as the next Viu Originals. This is also an opportunity for Indonesian talents to show their work worldwide.
The Viu Pitching Forum, aside from finding talented filmmaker, is also as one of Viu Indonesia’s commitments to establish an ecosystem that empowers the content industry, in order to contribute significantly to national economic growth.
“We are very pleased to announce the date and process of the Viu Pitching Forum 2019, so that talented Indonesian filmmakers can start preparing their fresh ideas. And we also can’t wait to entertain viewers in Indonesia with our latest Original film Knock Out Girl,” Myra Suraryo, Senior Vice President of Marketing – Viu Indonesia explained on Saturday.
The Viu Pitching Forum 2019 began with roadshow of Dialogue Film with Nia Dinata (Director and Producer) and Viu team in ten regions in Indonesia, namely Jakarta, Tangerang, Bandung, Padang, Yogyakarta, Medan, Balikpapan, Surabaya, Bali and Manado which at once also to introduce the Viu Pitching Forum 2019.
Filmmaker can submit their ideas to this forum started from January 20 to February 28, 2019. Ten finalists will be selected and invited to Jakarta to attend a six-day workshop, and will receive intensive guidance from Indonesian professional filmmakers such as Sammaria Simanjuntak (Director and Producer), Andri Cung (Director and Scriptwriter), Pritagita Arianegara (Director) and Aline Jusria (editor).
At the end of the workshop, the finalists will pitch or present their story and idea in front of the judges consisting of Myra Suraryo (Viu Senior Vice President of Marketing Indonesia) and Aileen Leong (Viu Head of Content Indonesia), Nia Dinata (Director and Producer ), Lucky Kuswandi (Director & Scriptwriter), Melissa Karim (Producer & Scriptwriter), and judge from Jakarta Arts Institute (IKJ).
Previously, Viu Pitching Forum has produced HALUSTIK which is aired on Viu since last September and on December 12, 2018 Viu successfully launched the latest original series Knock Out Girl by Reka Wijaya, a romantic-action drama about a daughter of a boxing gym owner who tried to save the family business from bankruptcy.
