SEMINYAK, Bali (BPN) – Disciples Escoffier International, a non-profit association consisting of more than 30,000 chefs in 30+ countries, to host their Escoffier Week “Meet you in Bali” from November 7-10, 2022.
The official hosts are Disciples Escoffier Asia-Pacific, which has 13 delegations within its exclusive, by-invitation-only, membership. Worldwide, this chef’s association has 45 Delegations on five continents.
The activities of the November 2022 events in Bali, are to have a French Gastronomy Exhibition and provide Brand Showcase Opportunities for participating chefs and food suppliers.
Specifically, the week-long program will feature, on Monday, November 7, 2022, a symposium by Guillaume Gomez, Ambassador of French gastronomy, and special representative of French President Emmanuel MACRON, with distinguished chefs and F&B leaders in Indonesia.
Further private cooking classes and professional visits are to be held on Tuesday, November 8th, and Wednesday, November 9th.
On November 10, 2022, there will be an international competition with young chefs and young waiters under 25 years old (Young Talents Escoffier Asia Pacific Final 2022), the winners will represent APAC at the World Final in Italy, Europe in 2023.
The annual main event will culminate in the Black and White Gala Dinner at The Trans Hotel on the final day of the week-long events, Thursday, November 10, 2022, at the Grand Ballroom of the Trans Hotel, Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia, from 18.00 pm onwards.
The dinner will highlight the dishes of 5 celebrity chefs, and distinguished members in their own right, of the Disciples Escoffier association.
The chefs creating the 6-course gala menu will be; Bruno Menard (Singapore, 3-Star Michelin), Thierry Drapeau (Bangkok, 2- Star Michelin), Eric Perez (Bangkok), and of host island Bali, Chefs Chris Salans and Andrea Astone.
Visitors will need to buy tickets for the 6-course dinner that will include all food and a course-by-course wine pairing. A portion of the ticket proceeds will benefit Disciples Escoffier International’s charities.
Disciples Escoffier was founded in 1954 to carry the values and legacy of Auguste Escoffier and is headquartered in his birthplace Villeneuve-Loubet, near Nice in France. Auguste Escoffier (1846-1935), was the “King of the Chefs, Chef of the Kings”, a legendary chef, culinary writer, and pioneer for the fine dining industry.
While following the values of Escoffier, the association created Institut Disciples Escoffier (IDE): a French Professional culinary educational body, accredited by the French Ministry of Education.
Disciples Escoffier’s values include; firstly, fostering the permanent evolution of gastronomy, deemed “The Escoffier Spirit,” encompassing equality of the disciples, the passing of knowledge, respect of the culture, constant evolution of cooking, and culinary research.
The charities and projects supported include the Foodlink Foundation in Hong Kong, and in Indonesia, Yayasan Komunitas Ambiente, supporting the Agats tribe in Papua.
