DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo expected that by May the curve of the COVID-19 case in Indonesia must start to flatten by any means necessary.
“By May, the curve must start to flatten. Then we will enter a moderate rate in June, and low rate in July, in one way or another,” Jokowi said in Jakarta on Wednesday, as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat press release.
Thus, President Jokowi reminded all officials to give their energy and strength to control the spread of COVID-19 and handle the impacts.
Jokowi also invited all elements of the nation, all levels of government, social organizations, political parties, and the private sector, to take part in handling the pandemic.
“I believe, if we are disciplined in carrying out the PSBB (large-scale social restrictions) and all the plans we have prepared, we will be able to overcome the pandemic as soon as possible,” he said.
According to the president, the government’s goal is the safety of all people, both the health and in the socio-economic sectors.
