Cathay Pacific Resumes Flights to Bali

MANGUPURA, Bali (BPN) – I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali has added its international flight routes as Cathay Pacific airline has resumed its operations with the Hong Kong – Denpasar – Hong Kong route on Sunday (27/11).

Handy Heryudhitiawan, General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali, responded positively to the return of Cathay Pacific to the island.

“With the re-operation of Cathay Pacific’s HKG – DPS – HKG route, we currently serve 24 international flight routes, with 27 airlines,” he added.

Handy explained that Cathay Pacific’s return would have a significant impact on Bali’s tourism.

“This is a strong signal for the rise of Bali’s tourism, considering that Hong Kong was one of the routes that were quite busy before the pandemic. In 2019, we served 671,168 travelers from Hong Kong in total,” he said.

In its first landing, Cathay Pacific type Airbus A-321 with flight number CX 785, carried 178 passengers from Hong Kong to Denpasar.

Then the plane with flight number CX 784 flew back to Hong Kong carrying 132 passengers.

“Cathay Pacific airlines with the HKG – DPS – HKG route will serve flights every day. Of course, this operation will further add to the connectivity of Bali to regions in China,” Handy explained.

“As of November 26, 2022, we have served 3,699,665 international passengers. We hope that the opening of Cathay Pacific’s route will further increase air traffic to Bali ahead of the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s Day,” Handy said.
