JAKARTA (BPN) – Head of Bali COVID-19 Lab Team Ni Nyoman Sri Budayanti said a fast sample testing is one of the keys to success in dealing with the spread of the COVID-19.
“The concepts of COVID-19 handling are the test, treatment, and tracking. The faster the test is carried out, the faster the confirmed people treated, and faster in tracking people who come in contact with cases,” Sri said as quoted from the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), Tuesday.
The recovery rates in Bali reached 58.67 percent, and the death rates of all cases or CFR reached 1.47 percent.
Those rates are far above the national recovery and death rates due to COVID-19 disease, in which the recovery rates reached 16.86 percent and CFR 7.45 percent.
In terms of sample test, Sri revealed that Bali continues to recruit laboratory personnel various existing hospitals and universities and are empowered to test samples.
Besides, Sanglah Hospital also continues to add laboratory assistants by conducting training for volunteers.
Sanglah Hospital laboratory can carry out 250 sample tests a day with one PCR machine. However, Bali has got an additional new PCR machine from the Ministry of Health, and it will increase the capacity of the test.
