DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – Bali Police Narcotics Investigation Directorate managed to uncover 593 cases during the period January – June 2018. The number is increasing compared to the same period last year with 572 cases.
“From those cases, there are 672 suspects consisting of 572 men, 85 women and 15 foreigners,” said Kombes Pol. Gunarso at the Bali Police Headquarters, on Thursday, in the press release of the Bali Police.
Of the number of suspects, 70 people were dealers, 562 were users and 40 people were alcoholic sellers.
“220 suspects were assessed and 48 people were rehabilitated. As many as 448 cases have been completed and 105 suspects are still in the process of investigation,” he said.
Meanwhile, the secured evidence are 759.54 grams of marijuana and 22 cannabis trees, 6623.934 grams of methamphetamine, 8.32 grams of heroin, 423.88 grams of hashish, 1188.7 grams of gorilla tobacco, 5449.5 ecstasy pills, 48 31 grams of mushroom, 23 grams of morphine, 14135 grams of list G medicine and 5205.4 liters of alcohol and Rp 6.1 million cash.
Gunarso said, the Bali Police would continue to eradicate drug trafficking in Bali to protect the public from the dangers of drugs, especially nearing the IMF-World Bank meeting.
“Accordingly to the Bali Police Chief’s commitment and order, drug eradication is a priority and will continue to be improved. We also hope the community’s participation in helping the police to provide information,” he hoped.
