NUSA DUA, Bali (BPN) – Bali launched a drive-thru vaccination program located in the BNDCC area, Nusa Dua, Badung, on Sunday, February 28. Bali Governor Wayan Koster said that this program is an effort to recover the economy on the island, especially the tourism sector.

“We have formulated the green zone which will later be allowed to be visited by domestic and foreign tourists. Therefore, we must support the national programs aimed at the tourism sector to accelerate the recovery of the economic condition of Bali. So don’t be afraid to be vaccinated,” Governor Koster said.

On the same occasion, Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that tourism sector actors are top of priority to be vaccinated since tourism is the foundation of the Balinese economy.

This vaccination targets 5 thousand tourism actors in Bali, including the elderly, and Grab drivers.

“The drive-thru vaccination service in BNDCC area is the first vaccination service in Indonesia, even in Southeast Asia. This is a synergy between the Health Office, the Bali Tourism Office with Grab and Good Doctor under the supervision of the Indonesian Ministry of Health,” the minister said.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno, hoped that the national vaccination movement, as well as the drive-thru vaccination, will become a momentum for Bali to revive and be free from Covid-19 so that the economy will back on track.
