DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – Executive Chairman of Bali COVID-19 team Dewa Made Indra announced 14 confirmed new cases, as of Thursday, April 9, 2020. Bringing the total COVID-19 cases in Bali to 63.
“Of the additional 14 cases, as many as 12 people are imported cases. While two others due to local transmission,” he explained when delivering a statement in Denpasar, on Thursday.
Dewa Indra also reminded people in Bali to be disciplined in the efforts to prevent COVID-19. Among them are by using face masks, wash hands with soap, apply physical and social distancing, and avoid touching the face, especially the nose, mouth, and eyes before washing hands.
He explained that those steps are very important considering that not all who are infected with COVID-19 show symptoms.

While nationally, the Indonesia COVID-19 team recorded 337 new cases, bringing the total number to 3,293 cases. The total number of recovered patients has increased to 252, and the death toll has increased to 280.
“This is a heartbreaking situation for us because we know that transmission is still happening out there,” said Government Spokesperson for COVID-19 control and prevention Achmad Yurianto during a press conference at Graha BNPB, Jakarta, on Thursday.
Achmad Yurianto also confirmed that East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) became the latest province to confirm a case of COVID-19. That makes COVID-19 cases has affected 33 provinces in the country, with Gorontalo as the only province that has not reported any COVID-19 case.
