DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – Bali recorded more COVID-19 confirmed cases as of Friday, April 17, by 11 people. Bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 124.

“There are 11 new confirmed cases. Eight of them are Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) and three local transmissions, one of which is from a red area,” said Dewa Made Indra, Deputy Chairman of Bali COVID-19 Task Force, on Friday.

Besides, Dewa Indra also announced the addition of four patients who have recovered, bringing the total recovered patients to 36.

While nationally, the Government of Indonesia recorded an increase in the number of patients who have recovered from the COVID-19 virus by 59, bringing the total number of patients who have recovered to 607.

The number is at the same time exceeds the number of the death toll, which as of Friday increased by 24, bringing the total death toll to 520.

“We are grateful that the recovered has now reached 607 people and of course this will continue to increase in considerable numbers in the next few days,” said Government Spokesperson for COVID-19 Achmad Yurianto, at Graha National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Jakarta, on Friday.

Provinces in Indonesia that contribute to the highest number of recovered patients are DKI Jakarta, followed by East Java, South Sulawesi, West Java, Central Java, Bali and other regions in Indonesia.

“The distribution of patients who recovered the most are DKI Jakarta 204 patients, East Java 94, South Sulawesi 43, West Java 41, Bali and Central Java together 36,” Yuri explained.

While for the new confirmed cases in Indonesia also increased by 407, bringing the total confirmed cases to 5,923.
