DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – Deputy Chairman of Bali COVID-19 Handling and Prevention Team Dewa Made Indra announced 25 new confirmed cases as of Sunday, April 3, 2020, bringing the total number to 262.

“There are 25 new confirmed cases, and all are Indonesian. Three are migrant workers (PMI) and 22 local transmissions,” Dewa Indra said on his statement in Denpasar, Sunday.

Besides, Dewa Indra also announced 22 patients have recovered, bringing the total number to 151.

While for the number of patient under treatment amounting 107. They are treated at nine referral hospitals and quarantine sites in Bali.

“Most of the confirmed cases came from the imported case, while local transmission reaches 90 people,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bali Governor Wayan Koster on a teleconference meeting with the National COVID-19 Handling and Prevention, on Sunday morning explained, the number of migrant workers returning to Bali has reached 11,800, and all are already rapid tested.

Koster also reported that the government is focusing on three regencies in Bali, namely Bangli, Karangasem, and Buleleng, since they found an increasing number of local transmission cases caused by the PMI.

As for the case in Bangli, Wayan Koster continued, the swab test resulted in 275 people negative from COVID-19.

“We’re still waiting for the PCR test result for another 139 people. I hope the result will be negative too,” Koster said.

Nationally, the Government of Indonesia recorded 292 new confirmed cases as of Sunday, bringing the total number to 10,843.

While recovered patients have reached 1,665, after 74 additional recoveries.

The government spokesperson for COVID-19 Achmad Yrianto also announced 31 new deaths, bring the total number of the death toll to 831.
