DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – Deputy Chairman of Bali COVID-19 Task Force announced 12 recoveries as of Thursday, May 28, bringing the total number to 314.

Besides, Dewa Indra also announced five new confirmed cases, bringing the total number to 420.

“There are five new cases today. All are Indonesian citizens, consist of one returning migrant worker (PMI) and four local transmissions,” Dewa Indra said in Denpasar on Thursday.

Dewa Indra added the number of patients under treatment (active cases) amounting to 102. They are being treated at nine hospitals and quarantine sites in Bali.

Most of the cases are still dominated by imported cases. While local transmission has reached 182 cases.

While the Indonesia Government recorded 687 new confirmed cases as of Thursday, bringing the total COVID-19 cases in the archipelago to 24,538.

The government’s spokesperson for COVID-19 Achmad Yurianto also announced 183 new recovers, which makes the total number of patients that have recovered to 6,240.

As for the total number of the death toll has reached 1.496, after an additional 23 deaths.

Yuri explained the highest number of new confirmed cases are recorded in East Java, followed by South Kalimantan, Jakarta, South Sulawesi, and North Sumatra.

“The new cases mostly in East Java with 171 cases, South Kalimantan with 116 cases, Jakarta with 105 cases, South Sulawesi with 46 cases, and North Sumatra with 30 cases,” Yuri said in Jakarta, Thursday.
