Bali Coronavirus Update May 2: Total Number of Recoveries Reaches 129

DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – Bali recorded eight patients have recovered as of Saturday, May 1, 2020, bringing the total number to 129, according to an official statement from Dewa Made Indra, Deputy Chairman of Bali COVID-19 handling and prevention team.

“There are eight patients who recovered as of today. Five are Indonesia Migrant Workers (PMI) and three are non-workers,” Dewa Indra said in Denpasar, on Saturday.

Dewa Indra also announced two new confirmed cases on the island, bringing the total number to 237. “There are two confirmed cases, both are Indonesian, infected from local transmission,” he said while adding there’s no new report on the death case.

The number of patients under treatment, he continued, totaling 104. They are treated at nine referral hospitals and quarantine sites in Bali.

Nationally, the Government of Indonesia recorded 292 new confirmed cases, bringing the total number to 10,843. While the recovered patients have reached 1,665, after 74  additional recoveries on Saturday.

The government spokesperson for COVID-19 Achmad Yurianto also announced 31 deaths, bringing the total death toll to 831.
