Bali Association of Hospitality Leaders Appoints Penny Claudine as New Chair

MANGUPURA, Bali (BPN) – The Association of Hospitality Leaders Indonesia (AHLI) Chapter Bali held its 1st Regional Conference (musda) on Monday (March 24, 2024) at the Brits Hotel Legian. The conference also elected Penny Claudine, Cluster GM of Brits Hotel and Resort Bali, as the new Chair who will lead the organization until 2027.

Ketut Swabawa, the Chairman of the central executive board (DPP) AHLI stated that this organization serves as a platform for stakeholder engagement to advance inclusively.

“I believe that AHLI Bali will be able to carry out innovations to advance our beloved associations, businesses, individuals, and industries with the spirit of local wisdom; Tri Hita Karana,” Swabawa added.

Meanwhile, the elected Chair, Penny Claudine, said that the conference was themed Tri Hita Karana.

“Creating Harmonisation, Strengthening Solidity and Synergy means how AHLI contributes to creating an advanced and healthy tourism business climate with the active, contributive participation of business actors,” she said.

Eka Pertama, former Chairman of AHLI Bali said that his party had carried out several activities and continued to add new members.

“We have also extended invitations to colleagues who manage day clubs, boat companies, high-class restaurants, and others to join as members. Membership has been extended to other tourism professions in addition to the four core member characteristics (accommodation, food & beverages, travel agencies, tourism, and hospitality education) in compliance with the directive of the last National Conference,” stated Eka Pertama.

Kadek Susastrawan as Chair of the plenary session at the conference, said that the election of the new chair demonstrates how AHLI prioritizes regeneration and applies the concept of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) / sustainable development, specifically the elements of women’s empowerment and gender equality.

The Association of Hospitality Leaders Indonesia was established and declared nationally on World Tourism Day, 27 September 2021 in Jakarta, with 14 Regional Representatives Councils (DPD) throughout Indonesia.

AHLI is a professional association for tourism business leaders, including leaders of accommodation businesses, food & beverages, travel agencies, tourism and hospitality education, and other businesses.
