SANUR, Bali (BPN) – ARTOTEL Sanur-Bali announces its new collaboration with Nyaman Gallery in Seminyak, presenting a never-before-seen series of artwork by Berlin’s renown artivist Mein Lieber Prost, named ‘Always and Never the Same’. Prost’s paintings and merchandises are on view from July 30 to September 30, 2018 at ARTOTEL Sanur-Bali’s ARTSPACE.
“This exhibition is about moving beyond the streets and into the studio, to show how things evolved. It’s about changes. Vandalism through contemporary art, contemporary art as vandalism. Love it or hate it. It’s here to stay,” Goya A. Mahmud, General Manager of ARTOTEL Sanur-Bali said.
After 20 long years spending most of his time in Berlin, Mein Lieber Prost is set to make his comeback to his Indonesian roots with a groundbreaking show. The exhibition emboldens Prost’s continuous mission which is “to shine the light on the similarities in differences, and the differences in similarities”, exposing a set of contradictions in the ever-changing world.
From the streets of Berlin to Bali’s seaside village, Sanur, Prost broadens his playground and gives more people an opportunity to be a part of his colorful world.
Granted with a scholarship in design and art, Prost finished his study with a Summa Cum Laude honor and had the opportunity to exhibit his art pieces all over Europe’s finest cities including Berlin, Munich, Cologne, Zürich, Paris, Milano, and Bristol. His signature satires have a powerful connotation of courage, making him recognized as “the happy anarchist, not an angry vandal”.
