A man from Banyuwangi Arrested by Denpasar Police for Keeping 7.6 Kg Marijuana

DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – Drugs Unit of Denpasar Police arrested Erfin from Banyuwangi, East Java, 26, after being caught keeping 7.6 Kg of dried Marijuana. The arrest occurred on Wednesday around 7.30 PM at the perpetrator’s boarding house in Seminyak, Kuta.

“The evidence seized are four packages of marijuana from under the perpetrator’s motorcycle seat,” said Denpasar Police Chief Commissioner Ruddi Setiawan, S.IK., S.H., M.H. , on Monday.

At the investigation, police officers found that the perpetrator received 50 thousand for one-time marijuana delivery. The perpetrator admitted he brings the marijuana himself from outside Bali by land, while the owner of the marijuana that the perpetrator calls Soop is still under police investigation.

“Based on the perpetrator’s confession that the marijuana was brought by land and it was for the stock for New Year’s Eve, I have ordered the entire ranks and Counter Transnational and Organized Crime (CTOC) Bali Police Task Force to disclose drugs cases including also street crimes,” said Commissioner Ruddi Setiawan Deputy of CTOC Bali Police.

For his crime, the perpetrator is subject to Article 111 (2) of the Indonesian Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics with a minimum sentence of imprisonment of 5 years, and a maximum of 20 years.
