Bali COVID-19 UPDATE: 22 New Confirmed Cases, Mostly Local Transmission

DENPASAR, Bali (BPN) – Bali recorded 22 new confirmed cases as of Tuesday, April 28, bringing the total number to 215.

Deputy Chairman of Bali COVID-19 task force Dewa Made Indra said, from the newly confirmed cases, all are Indonesians which nine are imported cases and 13 local transmissions.

“The number of today’s confirmed cases in Bali is quite high. It never happened before,” Dewa Indra said.

Of all the confirmed cases, eight are foreign nationals and 207 are Indonesians. While the death toll remained four (two foreigners, two Indonesian).

Dewa Indra also announced seven patients have recovered, bringing the total number to 88.

While the Indonesia Government announced 415 new confirmed cases, bringing the total number to 9,511.

According to the government spokesperson for COVID-19 Achmad Yurianto, recovered patients also increased by 103, bringing the total number to 1,254.

While the number of the death toll from COVID-19 is slowing down. As of Tuesday, Yuri continued, there are eight fatalities, bringing the total number to 773. The addition number is lower than the days before

But still, Yuri invited the community to keep their awareness since most of the death toll occurred to patients of 41 to 60 years old or older.

Besides, comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and lung disease also became the main factors that worsened the patients’ condition.
