UBUD, Bali (BPN) – The Ubud Village Jazz Festival officially kicked off on Friday (August 2, 2024).
Spectacular performances by renowned jazz musicians captivated audiences, each stage offering a distinctive ambiance: Padi, Giri, and Subak.
These three stages, designed with intriguing sequential concepts, were crafted by Klick Swantara and Diana Surya, a prominent young Balinese architect who founded Achimetriz.
“We intentionally created different sequences from the entrance corridor to the stalls at this festival. We designed it so that visitors would have a new experience when entering the festival arena compared to last year. The stages remain the same; three stages, but what fascinated me the most was working on Subak. I truly felt my soul and spirit there,” said Klick Swantara during the festival.
The venue for the Ubud Village Jazz Festival (UVJF) 2024 is indeed impressive.
Held at Sthala, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel located in the Lod Tunduh area, the venue is beautifully enhanced by the scenic river views, adding to the visual refreshment amidst the enchanting jazz symphonies.
The opening of the Ubud Village Jazz Festival 2024 was celebrated with great joy, and followed with the signing of an agreement of collaboration between UVJF and the Rostov Festival.
The Head of the Gianyar Tourism Office, I Wayan Gede Sedana Putra, officially opened the Ubud Village Jazz Festival 2024, accompanied by a dance performance from the Tanzer Dance Company.
“We from the Gianyar Tourism Office fully support the Ubud Village Jazz Festival,” he stated.
Before and after the ceremony, jazz musicians were ready to perform several repertoires, including Rason; Benny Irawan Trio; Uwe Plath Quartet (Germany) with Dian Pratiwi; New Centropezn with Horns (Russia); Jazz Centrum; Noe Clerc Trio (France); Rodrigo Pajero Quartet (Spain); and Andien Fazmail Quinteto.
