MANGUPURA, Bali (BPN) – Leadership is often associated with success, achievement, recognition, and personal accomplishment. However, behind the spotlight, there are challenges and dilemmas that are rarely acknowledged.
This was revealed during the event “Understanding & Overcoming The Dark Side of Leadership” on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at J4 Hotels Legian, Bali.
The event featured Sundoro Tanuwidjaja, a leadership expert with over two decades of experience in the field since 2003, both as an HR consultant and a practitioner.
Attended by approximately 100 participants, the event encouraged attendees to delve deeper into the various challenges often overlooked in both the workplace and business opportunities.
Sundoro Tanuwidjaja explained that the goal of addressing The Dark Side of Leadership was to discuss the hidden aspects of leadership that can become a heavy burden for leaders, whether in business, companies, or organizations.
“We invited the participants to explore the often-overlooked challenges and share experiences in facing the dark side of leadership,” said Sundoro.
During the session, Sundoro emphasized that many leaders feel they must always be strong and perfect, but the reality is that effective leadership also requires the ability to address weaknesses and confront challenges that are not always visible.
“This event provides an opportunity to discuss issues that are rarely openly addressed,” he added.
The event was not only for current leaders but also for those preparing for leadership positions in the future.
“After this event, participants are expected to take away practical insights to approach the dark side of leadership more wisely and consciously,” he concluded.
