'The Milestone' Biggest Art Collaboration in 2021 by Artotel Artspace and LabX Gallery

SANUR, Bali (BPN) – Artotel Artspace in collaboration with LabX Gallery presents the biggest art collaboration in 2021 under the title ‘The Milestone.’ This art exhibition journey starts from Jakarta and Yogyakarta and closes in Bali.

The exhibition is open to the public from November 17, 2021, to January 31, 2022, at Artspace Artotel Sanur – Bali.

LabX Gallery is a special place for artists or creators to develop artwork, collaborations, and art events.

In particular, this art exhibition features 8 talented Indonesian artists whose names are familiar includes Anis Kurniasih, Bahaudin, David Rivaldo, I Made Agus Saputra, Imelda Adams, M.A. Roziq, NPAAW, and Putu Bonuz Sudiana.

The meaning of milestone is ‘pal kilometer’ (‘pal mil’), which can be found all the way when traveling by car out of town.

Pal kilometer is the sign of the distance pointer, how far people will arrive at the destination city ahead, or, how far they leave the city behind.

But, if we translate to Bahasa, milestone becomes a ‘benchmark of achievement’ or ‘milestone’ so the art displayed are important or historical from each artist during their career in the art world.

“LabX Gallery is our initiation in developing the potential of local artists in times of pandemic, where we collaborated with Artotel Group to create The Milestone exhibition. Hopefully, this exhibition can be the first step in realizing our vision and mission to bring the name of local artists to the international stage,” Shinta Witoyo Dhanuwardoyo, founder of LabX said.

Windi Salomo, Art Director of Artotel Group thanked the Ministry of Tourism & Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, for his full support of the event.

“We hope Indonesian artists from the creative industry, can start to create a new creation after a one-year vacuum due to the Covid-19 pandemic that hit Indonesia. Artotel Group will also continue to be committed to always providing a platform for Indonesian artists to work and innovate through their creative ideas,” Windi said.
