TABANAN, Bali (BPN) – Tourism in Tabanan Regency is expected to continue thriving in the future, given its attractive tourist destinations and role as a supporting region for tourism in Southern Bali.
According to I Nyoman Sugiartha, Chairman of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) of Tabanan, the bustling atmosphere and traffic congestion in South Bali often prompt guests to prefer other regions to visit, and one of them is Tabanan.
“Tourism in the South has faced various issues, potentially leading to visitor fatigue and thus prompting tourists to opt for Tabanan,” he said.
Sugiartha, who also owns Pondok Nyoman Bedugul, expressed hope that Tabanan continues to prepare itself for this role.
Known for its agricultural landscape, Tabanan is blessed with natural beauty and tranquility.
“Tabanan is renowned for its sea and mountains concept, where both blend harmoniously, with lush green rice fields in between,” he added.
He further highlighted Tabanan’s remarkable natural environment and captivating agrotourism attractions, appealing as an alternative destination for both domestic and international tourists.
“In recent times, Tabanan has increasingly attracted tourists, especially from Europe, who enjoy exploring natural environments,” he noted. “European tourists have ventured into rural areas, including Belimbing Village, fascinated by its pristine landscapes.”
To achieve the expectations, Sugiartha emphasized the importance of collaboration among businesses, local government, and communities in managing and promoting tourism effectively.
“Thus, membership in organizations like PHRI is crucial for sharing knowledge and experiences,” he explained, encouraging accommodation providers in Tabanan to join forces in promoting sustainable tourism practices.
To solidify Tabanan as a premier tourist destination, maintaining cleanliness and preserving the natural environment are imperative.
“Honestly, waste management remains a pressing issue and requires everyone’s attention. Hopefully, we all develop a sense of responsibility towards our environment,” he concluded.
